Phonics
Reception
The next few weeks the children continue to consolidate their sounds. This week we will also look at adding -ed onto a root word.
Year 1
This week, Year 1 children will be consolidating the sounds they have learnt over the last term.
Year 2
The children will learn about adding suffixes to root words.
English
Reception children will start a new book topic based on Castles.
Year 1 & 2 will start their new Write Stuff unit - The Bear and the Piano. On Monday we will have our first 'experience' day, where we will take an imaginary walk through the forest.
Maths
Reception complete their new topic 20 and beyond before starting How many now, which looks at basic addition and subtraction.
Year 1 children continue ''mass and volume".
Year 2 children continue "mass, capacity and temperature".
Science
We start a new topic learning about plants and bulbs. This week the children will explore a variety of plants and whether they grow from a seed or a bulb. We will also be planting in our veg bed.
RE - Why do we celebrate special times? Easter

History - How have explorers changed the world?
Finding out what an explorer is and what they do.
Art
Our new art topic will take us on a journey of colour. This week we look at exploring textures, icluding going out in the school grounds to use natural materials in our artwork.
PSHE - Healthy Me
Knowing how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Music
Mrs Askew will be taking the class for Music each Tuesday morning.
PE
Coach will take the class for PE each Tuesday afternoon. This term will focus on fundamental skills and games..
