  • Welcome back

    Thu 01 Sep 2022

Welcome back everyone. We hope you had a great summer holiday and are looking forward to coming back to school and seeing your friends tomorrow.

A special welcome to Arthur, Julia, Dexter, Breeze, Mykola, Jessica, Benjamin, Isabella, Arthur, Jacob, Elliot, Esme, George and Anya Mai who join Miss Wheatley and Mrs Podraza in Robins class. We look forward to working in partnership with them and you in the coming years to ensure that they have a happy, enjoyable Primary Education.

I would also like to welcome two new teachers to the team. Miss Boyagis joins us as Puffins’ class teacher and Miss Card joins us as Kingfishers’ class teacher. Mrs Askew has taught piano at Dinton for a number of years and this year I have asked her to teach the music and singing across the school. She will do this on Tuesday morning before commencing piano and violin lessons in the afternoon. On Fridays for the first term, all children will benefit from expert cricket coaching as part of the national ‘Chance to Shine Scheme.’ Lessons will be delivered by a county coach and children’s usual class teacher. So, all children will need their PE kit on Fridays.

I am confident that the new staff will make sure our curriculum offer is more diverse and exciting than previously.

This year I am keen to have more parents helping in school, so if you have time and a particular strength that you would like to share please get in touch. We are always keen to have adults in to hear children read. Adults would need to have a DBS check and safeguarding/how to hear children read briefing before working with our pupils.
