Extra-curricular activities
A variety of after school clubs are organised and run by members of staff, parents, governors and external coaches.
Lunch Clubs
Lunch time clubs run from 12.30 - 12.50. There may be a fee for a club or a nominal charge for refreshments.
- Tuesday: Craft club
After School
After School clubs generally run for 10 weeks each term from 3.10-4.10 and parents will be notified as to when they will start each term.
- Tuesday: Multi skills for Y2-6 with Luke Shipley
School visits
Throughout the year classes go out on various visits based on the school curriculum including developing the school values.
Past outings have included trips to:
- Salisbury Cathedral
- Portland Outdoor Education Centre (Residential)
- Beaulieu Motor Museum
- Stonehenge
- The Ancient Technology Centre - Cranborne (Residential)
- Tutankhamun Exhibition - Dorchester
- Longleat
- London (Residential)
- Christchurch Harbour
- New Forest
- Lulworth Cove
- Stourhead
- Brownsea Island
- Fovant Badges
- Weymouth Sea life centre
- Marwell Zoo
Parents may be asked for a contribution towards the costs of making these trips.
Not all the outings are long distance. Local visits are made to help the children gain a better understanding of their environment. For example, children have worked with the National Trust building bird boxes, taken walks in the park and cooked outside as well as many other activities.
